Chrissy Hughes has joined the Darlington Community as advancement services officer, overseeing all gift entry and reporting and database management for the school.

With a career built in strategic marketing and communications as well as partnership development, Hughes will support the overall fundraising goals of the school and activities related to database management and alumni relations. She will also serve as the primary liaison between the advancement and finance departments and work closely with the admissions team to integrate new students and parents into the school’s database.

“We are very excited for Chrissy to join the Advancement team,” said Julie Lucas (‘97), chief Advancement officer. “She brings to Darlington wonderful work experience, a heart for community involvement,  and a love for the school. I know all of our Darlington family will enjoy working with her as well!”

Hughes has a B.S. in Dietetics from the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont and also has a health and life insurance license in the state of Georgia. She launched the Rome Athletic Club from the ground up and from there began her own consulting company, working with area businesses on strategies for improving customer experience, maximizing brand awareness, cultivating community presence, and driving revenue growth. Active in the Rome community, she has served as vice president of the booster club and publicity director of the PTO at St. Mary’s School, as board member at the Family Resource Center, and as newsletter editor and board member for the Junior Service League of Rome.

“I am so excited to be a part of the Darlington family as a new member of the Advancement team,” Hughes said. “I am very much looking forward to giving back to this school since the Darlington Community was so wonderful to me and my family over the past year or so. Darlington has always impressed me as an outstanding and exceptional institution and I am honored to lend my expertise in communications and public relations to the school as well as to the Darlington family as a whole.”

Hughes is the mother of three children: Shannon (University of Georgia freshman this fall) , Conor (rising Darlington senior), and Jamie (10/9/2003 - 9/17/2018).
