Expanded Offerings in World Languages

I am excited to announce that Darlington will be expanding its offerings in the world language department beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.

In addition to the school’s robust Spanish program, which begins in our youngest grades and continues throughout a student’s high school career, students will now have the opportunity to pursue additional offerings in Chinese and Latin through Darlington’s partnership with One Schoolhouse, the online leader in independent school education. Darlington will be joining over 130 other independent schools throughout the country in expanding the scope of our world language program.

The 2019-2020 school year also marks the last year Darlington will offer French as part of its world language program. Students enrolled in French 2/2 Honors at Darlington during the 2018-2019 school year will take French 3/3 Honors as part of their graduation requirements during the 2019-2020 school year.
Darlington students will now have two options to meet their world language graduation requirement. They may choose to participate in our vibrant Spanish program on campus or join a global community of learners in an online learning platform and pursue their graduation requirements in Latin or Chinese.

Here at Darlington, we are committed to preparing our students to be global citizens who are confident contributors to their world. This is just one more way we are doing that.
