We are pleased to invite all Darlington parents, pre-K to 12, to a special program we have planned for them. Renowned educational psychologist, Dr. Jed Applerouth, founder and CEO of Applerouth Tutoring and Test Prep will speak to parents at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 in Thatcher Hall on “Raising Gritty, Resilient Kids.”

Dr. Applerouth is well-known as a teacher, educational innovator, and specialist on standardized testing. He has worked extensively in the areas of learning strategies, teaching strategies, and student cognition. While best-known for his SAT prep services, Dr. Appelrouth specializes in helping students manage test anxiety – and in instructing parents on how to resist “over parenting” and adding to students’ stress. As many students struggle to survive on their own when they reach college, Dr. Appelrouth finds much of that difficulty comes as a result of teaching and parenting through the years.

Dr. Applerouth will also be presenting to Darlington's faculty earlier in the day. We think that both parents and faculty will find him to be a most engaging speaker.

This program is a must for all pre-K to 12 parents who can make it!
