Thirty-six Darlington students have been recognized by the Duke University Talent Identification Program’s 7th Grade Talent Search, which honors those who have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on a grade-level achievement test. As part of the program, these students have the opportunity to take the SAT or ACT.
"Sixty-eight percent of our seventh grade qualified this year," said James Hutchins, director of ELA-8. "This is outstanding news! We are very proud of our students."
Students receiving Duke TIP recognition include Amelia Allen, Tommy Atha, Hayden Baldwin, Travis Black, Lawson Blake, Annabelle Braden, David Braden, Emily Brandon, Andy Brunt, Aiden Buzzetti, Anna Kate Cash, Jack Eady, Luke Gober, Ashley Hankinson, Spencer Herring, Gibson Hicks, Adam Himes, Natalie Horah, Gabi Horton, Maggie Inman, Raechel Irby, Morgan Ivester, Elliot Kinney, Andrew Land, Rhett McDurmon, Ram Miniyar, Samson Mumber, Jonathan Pieroni, Tejas Reddy, Nicolas Seijo, Chloe Tidwell, Daniella Tomaselli, Jane Tullis, Trey Yunger, Casey Zazzaro and Collin Zazzaro.
Since 1980, more than 2 million gifted students have participated in Duke TIP’s Talent Searches.
