Matthew Peer joined the student life staff as director in 2010 with nearly a decade of teaching, coaching and administrative experience under his belt. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from St. Lawrence University (N.Y.) and an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University (Ct.) Peer came to Darlington from Avon Old Farms School in Avon, Ct., where he was named the 2008 Fanning Faculty Award Winner. He enjoys playing and watching hockey, lacrosse, and football, and spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their children, Jackson (’24) and Ella.

Jill has been head of Cooper House, the first-year girls’ house, since 2011. With over a decade of experience working with young women through the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, she holds a B.S. in Leisure Studies from Southeast Missouri State University and an M.S. in Recreation, Park & Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University. She has also taught P.E. and health at the college level. Jill enjoys knitting, reading, hiking and camping. Her husband, Chris, is a science teacher at the Middle School, and her stepdaughter, Arden (’14) is a current student.

Reba has been head of Summerbell House since 1996. For the past two years, she has also served as director of the school’s Servant Leadership Program, coordinating fun community service opportunities with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club and the Open Door Children’s Home. Before Darlington, she dabbled in many areas, including catering, healthcare and motivational speaking. Reba and her husband, Wendell, have judged local preliminaries for state pageants for eight years. She also enjoys cooking, watching old movies, travel, gardening and spending time with her son, Trip (’02).

Caroline has worked at Darlington since 2002, first as a P.E. teacher and coach and now as head of Regester House and director of student activities. As a student here, she was involved in the Environmental Awareness Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and earned 17 varsity letters in basketball, golf, softball, tennis and track. After receiving her B.A. from Furman University, she played professional golf for eight years – touring in both Europe and the United States. Caroline recently earned a M.S. from Georgia State University. She enjoys photography, cycling, competing in triathlons, and spending time with her husband, Eric, and their sons, Jackson and Stiles.

Denise has worked in Darlington’s Student Life Office since 1996. She attended Floyd Junior College and Georgia State University, and served as a volunteer mom for many years in school, church and Little League Baseball. Prior to her work at Darlington, she was an administrative assistant at Cabrini College (Penn.) In 2006, Denise received the William Gordon Neville Jr. House Senate Faculty Award. She enjoys artwork, photography and traveling. She and her husband, Wayne, are the parents of Darlington alumni, Bryan (’99) and Russell (’03).

Marcus has been a resident faculty member at Darlington since 2006. He previously served as desktop support specialist, but made the transition to head of house in 2009 so he and his family could be more involved in student life. In 2011, he took on the additional role of residential dean. Marcus’ background in the residential environment, both as a former boarding student and a resident faculty member, make him a natural for this role. He holds a B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University, and enjoys skydiving, go kart racing, spelunking, spring triathlons and spending time with his family. His wife, Melinda, is Darlington’s director of library services, and his daughters, Addie (’17) and Julia (’18), are current students.

Kila has over 15 years of admissions experience and currently serves as director of boarding admission and director of international student programs. Prior to coming to Darlington in 2005, she worked in admission at St. Lawrence College and as a personal counselor at Fulford Academy, an English language preparatory boarding school in Brockville, Ontario. Kila holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, and a B.S. from Shorter College in Rome. She enjoys international travel, meeting new people and learning about different cultures. She and her husband, Tim, have two sons, Mack (’10) and Marshall (’15).

Tyler has been head of Moser House and dean of students since 2011. He holds a B.F.A. in Music Performance from the University of the Arts (Penn.), ABA Certification from the University of Massachusetts and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University (Penn.) Previously, he served as dean of students and director of technology at The Phelps School, where he was also a teacher, coach and dorm parent. Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristen; composing, playing and listening to music; cheering on the Philadelphia Flyers and playing roller hockey; fiddling with computers and gadgets; and watching movies.

John has been head of Neville House and dean of students since 2011. He holds a B.A. in History from the College of Wooster and an M.A. in Social Sciences from Wesleyan University. John has more than 15 years of experience teaching, coaching and working in residential life. His wife, Bebe, is the Middle School Counselor.
