Student Activities

On-campus activities are offered each weekend to all members of the Darlington community. These may include lock-in weekends, house retreats, themed dances, movie nights, games and tournaments, cookouts, socials, Tigerfest, open-mic and karaoke nights, and much more.

Complementing the on-campus activities are a wide range of weekend trips and excursions to Atlanta and Chattanooga, Rome Braves games, shopping malls and outlets, amusement parks, fairs, professional sports events, outdoor adventures, and cultural events (musical, dramatic, and artistic productions). Impromptu and spontaneous activities and trips may develop through the year based on student-faculty interests.

Darlington’s Student Life Office also organizes student activities during scheduled school breaks and vacations. In the past, trips have included skiing in Colorado, tours of Europe and Costa Rica, and a variety of wilderness adventure trips across the country.

Student activities are planned, promoted and implemented by the social liaisons (student leaders) and the director of student activities. Upcoming activities are announced in Monday morning assemblies and publicized by the Student Life Office. Some trips, such as concerts and athletic events, require students to sign up for the activity in advance. The cost of transportation and tickets for resident students is billed to his or her parent account.
