Mumpower named November Student of the Month

Senior Farrin Mumpowerhas been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for November.

A day student, Mumpower has attended Darlington for seven years. She has taken 16 Honors and AP courses and has been inducted into National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Quill & Scroll.

A member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, she is a varsity football cheerleader and a member of the varsity basketball, track and soccer teams. She also serves as the day liaison in Thornwood House. 

For her work in journalism, Mumpower received the E.L. Wright Award for Intro to Media Arts and was corecipient of a Georgia Scholastic Press Association Award for Superior Production. 

Outside of school, she has participated in the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce's High School Leadership Rome program as well as Berry College's leadership program for high school students. She is also an active member of the youth group at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church and enjoys volunteering with a variety of different community organizations, including Floyd Medical Center's Volunteen Program, summer programs and camps, and mission trips. 

The daughter of Anna Kate and Dr. Samuel Mumpower of Rome, Farrin was honored at an Optimist Club luncheon Nov. 14.
