Despite an injury last summer that kept him from playing his final season and a change in the college's coaching personnel, the senior has kept his eye on becoming a Hokie following graduation.
“There were so many people I met and things I saw in Blacksburg that told me it was the right choice,” Kearns said. “But more than anything, I just felt like Virginia Tech fit me as a student and as an athlete.”
The Tiger received offers from Georgia Tech, N.C. State, and other schools, but ultimately chose Virginia Tech after a college visit.
The Adairsville, Ga. native will make his commitment official on National Signing Day, Feb. 3.
