Students recognized at Spring Sports Assembly

Outstanding athletes in baseball, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track and field were recognized at the Spring Sports Assembly on Monday, April 27, in Morris Chapel.

In baseball:

Senior John Goldin of Rome received the Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Award.

Seniors Burton Dulaney and John Goldin, both of Rome, Tripp Flournoy of Cartersville, Ga., and Seth Little of Rockmart, Ga., received 4-Year Awards. 

In golf:

Juniors Selena Chen of Rome and Dawson Horah of Euharlee, Ga., received Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Awards. 

Junior Ivy Brandon of Taylorsville, Ga., received the Lanny Pickard Award.

Freshman Stacy Chen of Rome was named Most Improved.

Sophomore Nicholas Jones of Rydal, Ga., and Andrea Riano of Meerbusch, Germany, received Coaches' Awards.

Senior Moana Kubo of Yokohama, Japan, and junior Vraj Patel of Rome were named MVPs.

In lacrosse:

Juniors Hunter Manning of Rome and Alyse Redden of Cedartown, Ga., received Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Sophomores Tate Morgan and Sam Raper, both of Rome, were named Most Improved.

Sophomore William Groover of Calhoun, Ga., received the Founder's Award.

Sophomore Kattie Li of Guangzhou, China, received the Coaches' Award.

Junior Jade Cox and Senior Trey Edge, both of Rome, were named MVPs. 

In soccer:

Senior Niambh O'Neill and junior Will Sparks, both of Rome, received Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Senior Max Berry of Rome and junior Pressley Smith of Kingston, Ga., received Coaches' Awards.

Seniors Niambh O'Neill of Rome was named Offensive Player of the Year. Sophomore Christina Kinder of Rome was named Defensive Player of the Year. 

Sophomore Jack Talley of Rome received the Worn Cleat Award.

Juniors Tanner Berry and Will Sparks, both of Rome, were named MVPs.

In tennis:

Juniors Will Crawford and Carl Schriever, both of Rome, and junior Caroline Thoms of Kingston, Ga., received Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Awards. 

Junior Will Crawford and freshman Callie Maffett, both of Rome, received Coaches' Awards. 

Juniors Justin Brand and freshman Ishani Desai, both of Rome, were named Most Improved.

Junior Milan Rane of Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia, junior Carl Schriever of Rome, junior Caroline Thoms of Kingston, Ga., and senior Jack Tunnell of Rome were named MVPs. 
 
In track and field:

Seniors Kinslee Clevenger of Rome and Spencer Fields of Kingston, Ga., received Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Senior Tina Chea of Nassau, Bahamas, and junior Bob Ledbetter of Rome were named Most Improved.

Senior Anna Loyd of Rome and junior Carter Dingler of Cedartown, Ga., received Jeff Gaither Awards.

Senior Spencer Fields of Kingston, Ga., and junior Stephanie Ward of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, were named MVPs in running. 

Senior Paige Mavity of Alpharetta, Ga., and sophomore Elijay McKoy of Rome were named MVPs in field events.


Also recognized were the following senior athletic scholarship nominees: 
GADA Scholarship Award - Natalie Collins (winner) and John Goldin
NCCAA Victory Bowl Award - Brooks Busby and Rachel Simon
Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority John Pinson Outstanding Student Athlete Award - Kinslee Clevenger and Spencer Fields (winner)
Vince Dooley Scholarship Award - Hayden Cook and Emily Swafford
