Cynde Reneau, Darlington's technology integration coordinator, has been selected to lead the department of information technology at the Pan American School of Bahia in Salvador, Brazil. She will assume her new role in July.

Reneau will lead a team of four within her new department, guiding them from technology integration to network engineering and budgeting.

"Cynde has been with us through four years of intense technology integration efforts," said Stefan Eady, Darlington's director of information technology. "She was an essential part of launching our 1:1 program as well as coordinating the Upper School's move to digital resources."

Before coming to Darlington, Reneau worked at The Lovett School in Atlanta for 11 years, where she began as a technician and was later promoted to technology integration specialist.

"I would have never gotten my new position had it not been for Darlington," said Reneau. "Here we are allowed to be more independent and try new initiatives—we are always learning."

Reneau has over two decades of experience in educational technology, and came to Darlington in July 2011. She has also served as Darlington's e-book specialist and is certified by Apple Inc. as an Apple Foundations Trainer. Reneau holds an A.A.S. from Jones County Junior College, a B.S. in Political Science and History, and an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University, which she obtained while working full-time at Darlington.

Reneau has been a featured conference panelist for Confluence, Harbin Clinic's Gal Talk, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and Tech Forum Atlanta, and has spoken on a variety of topics from developing 1:1 technology programs to grooming young women into becoming tomorrow's leaders.

"We are given more room at Darlington to be successful, and there is such a culture of teamwork here," said Reneau. "It is going to be really hard to leave."

Reneau has three daughters, Heidi, Toni, and Zoe, and a son, Caleb. She is the proud grandmother of Kerry and Valentino, and the mother-in-law of Marcos Cesario, Darlington security officer.
