Student-athletes recognized at Winter Sports Assembly

Outstanding athletes in varsity basketball, swimming and diving, and wrestling were recognized at the Winter Sports Assembly on Monday, March 2, in Morris Chapel. 

In basketball:
Junior Will Sparks and sophomore Anna Claire Atha, both of Rome, received the Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Award.

Sophomore Elijah McKoy of Rome was named Most Improved.

Senior Seth Little of Rockmart, Ga., was named Offensive Player of the Year.

Senior Sawyer Hicks of Cave Spring, Ga., was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Sophomore Mason Tant of Rome received the JV Hustler Award.

Senior Rachel Simon, junior Keara Evans, and sophomore Anna Claire Atha, all of Rome, received the Captain's Award.

Senior Caroline Hunt of Rockmart, Ga., received the Practice Makes Perfect Award.

Senior Ashley Edge of Taylorsville, Ga., received the Darah Huffman Award.

In swimming and diving:
Senior Hope Roberson of Rome and junior Will Robertson of Kennesaw, Ga., received the Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Award.

Junior Mary Margaret Wright and sophomore Melinda Childs, both of Rome, and junior Will Robertson of Kennesaw, Ga., received the Captain's Award.

Junior Emily Robertson of Kennesaw, Ga., and freshman Reid Blackmon of Rome received Most Improved awards.

Freshman Maddie Bou of Marietta, Ga., and junior Will Robertson of Kennesaw, Ga., received Most Valuable Player awards.

In wrestling:
Sophomore Nicholas Jones of Rydal, Ga. received the Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Award.

Freshman Davis Peek of Cedartown, Ga., received the Freshman of the Year award.

Junior Trent Blankenship of Aragon, Ga. received the Coaches' Award.

Senior Hayden Cook of Aragon, Ga., received the 4-Year Letter award.
