Outstanding academic achievement won senior Anne Townshend "ATB" Budd the honor of being named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for November.
A resident student and leader among her peers, Budd currently serves as house manager of Regester House. She is also a member of FCA, French Club, Young Republicans and the varsity softball team. Her artistic and athletic achievements have been recognized with The Darlington Players Production Award and the Athletic Participation Award. Budd enjoys serving her community, and volunteers her time at McHenry Primary School in Rome as well as organizations in her hometown such as Macon Outreach, Paws & Adopt and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Prior to Darlington, Budd attended Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School for grades 7-10, where she served as an admissions tour guide, football team manager and member of the softball team. There, she received the Excellence in French Award and the Coaches' Award for Softball.
The daughter of Billy Budd of Macon, Ga., ATB was honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Nov. 18.
