After placing first at the school level, fourth-grader Molly Brewer placed third in the Independent School Science Fair with her project "Popcorn Popability." The fair was held April 27 at Berry Elementary and Middle School.

Other Darlington participants included Lucy Bearden with her project "Which Potato Chip is More Greasy?," Madeline Lewis with her project "Bacteria - What Does It Look Like?," Teagan Martin with his project "Dynamics of Paper Airplanes," Kennan Milford with his project "Battery Lightning," and Karson Swiger with his project "The Power of Distractions."

Steve Bartholomew, director of Lower School, said he is very proud of all of the students who participated. "A very special thanks also goes out to our fourth-grade teachers, Flo Anthony, Rebekah Kinney and, especially, science teacher Byron Dacy, who prepared the students for the competition," he said. "All of the students did a fantastic job with their projects!"
