Five Middle School students have been selected to compete with the Georgia All-Stars football team on June 18 at Woodward Academy in College Park, Ga.

"The Georgia All-Stars is a football team made up of middle school athletes from all over the state of Georgia," said Middle School football coach Joey Rice, who will be offensive line coach for the all-star team. "They will compete against the top middle school players from the state of Florida."

Eighth-graders Brooks Busby, Trey Edge, and Robert Muschamp, and seventh-graders Landon Rice and Hugh Duggan will spend the week prior to the game training at Emory University. They will also spend a day at Georgia Tech, where they will have the opportunity to meet the football coaches and players and tour their athletic facilities.

"Darlington is the only school from the Rome area that will have athletes on this team," Rice said. "During the Georgia/Florida game, each player will wear his school’s helmet, so our boys will have on their Darlington purple paws and stripes. Go Tigers!"
