Sixth-grader qualifies for state Geo Bee

Sixth-grader Will Crawford has qualified to represent Darlington School at the state level of the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek on April 9 at Georgia College and State University.

Student participants at the state level must be in grades 4-8 and must have participated in and won the contest at the school-level that involved at least six students.

One winner from each state and territory will advance to the national competition, which will be held May 25 and 26 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. The final round fo the 2010 National Geographic Bee, featuring Jeopardy host Alex Trebek, will air on the National Geographic Channel on May 26 and then on public TV stations, produced by National Geographic Television.

Will is the son of Madge and Cooper Crawford of Rome.
