Advancement Office recognized for outstanding fundraising

Darlington School appears among the likes of Stanford and Yale universities in a recent list of 2007 CASE-WealthEngine award winners. The Council for Advancement and Support of Education named Darlington one of only nine K-12 institutions to win an award in the Overall Performance category, also naming the School to its Circle of Excellence.

The CASE-WealthEngine Award honors outstanding development and fundraising programs at CASE-member colleges, universities and independent schools around the country. Darlington was one of 235 institutions whose financial records in fundraising were evaluated.

“Darlington has very loyal and generous alumni, parents and friends who believe in our mission and support the programs of the School,” said Joe Montgomery, chief advancement officer. “It’s not about us; it’s really an award for the entire Darlington community. We are honored to be counted among such a prestigious list of colleges and schools.”

To determine award recipients for independent schools, judges were provided with three years of fundraising data for each institution. Judging criteria included pattern of growth in total support; evaluation of what contributed to the total support figure; overall breadth in program areas; pattern of growth in each program area; pattern of donor growth among individual donors and alumni/alumnae donors; impact of the 12 largest gifts on total support; and total support in relation to the alumni/alumnae base.

This is the first time Darlington has received the CASE-WealthEngine Award. The McCallie School, one of our peer institutions, was also selected as one of the nine K-12 winners in Overall Performance. Click here to access a full list of winners.
