Rex Bowman, assistant director of Darlington School Soccer Academy and biology teacher, has been selected for inclusion in the 2008-09 Princeton Premier Honors Edition Registry. This honor is bestowed upon men and women of distinction who have demonstrated academic, professional and personal excellence.
When he joined Darlington's faculty in 2007, Bowman brought with him more than a decade of experience in high school education and sports training. He is an "A" license coach for the United Soccer Federation, and has taught at the high school level for more than six years. During the past year, he has also been charged with coordinating tournaments, handling travel arrangements and providing student support services.
Bowman holds a Bachelor of Science from Berry College and is currently working on his master's. He is a member of several professional athletic organizations, including the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the United States Soccer Federation and the National Science Teachers Association. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, fishing, camping and volunteering with local organizations like the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Georgia, Habitat for Humanity International and Dog Pack Rescue.
