When Summer Reading Comes Full Circle

Last summer, I elected to read “The Bomb” by Steve Sheinkin, who came to inform the Darlington Community about the process of making history come to life. I first heard of Sheinkin’s future visit to Darlington during the last few weeks of my sophomore year; however, I had no idea what the following months would bring.

Faculty, alumni, a student and member of the local media gathered for a special breakfast with award-winning author Steve Sheinkin in the Sulzbacher Dining Room on April 27. Sheinkin was on campus to speak with students in grades 5-12 about his nonfiction narrative titled "Bomb: The Race to Build and Steal the World's Most Dangerous Weapon."

Math Team wins Class AA division of state tournament

A team of four students from the Darlington School in Rome won the Class AA championship in the 39th annual State Mathematics Tournament on Saturday, April 25, in Macon, Ga.


Gideon ('15) honored with prestigious UNC scholarship

Darlington senior Rachel Gideon has been named a Morehead-Cain Scholar and will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall. The scholarship includes four years of full tuition, housing, meals, books, technology, student fees and four summer programs.


Dr. Seuss brought to life by students in grades 4-8

Darlington students in grades 4-8 and their families packed the Black Box Theatre over the weekend with the fine arts department's presentation of "Seussical Jr." Fine arts students performed in two evening shows and one matinee on Friday and Saturday.
