Lawson to teach fourth grade this fall

Elisabeth Lawson has joined the Darlington Community to teach fourth grade. She has eight years of experience in the classroom, most recently teaching at Rome First United Methodist Preschool and at Montessori School of Rome.


Perkins to serve as ELA-8 library paraprofessional

Kim Perkins has been named ELA-8 library paraprofessional at Darlington School. Before moving to Georgia, Perkins spent 11 years as a speech-language pathologist at New Palestine Elementary School in Indiana, providing diagnostic and treatment services for children.

My Experience in the United States Naval Academy's Summer STEM Program

This summer, I was selected and given the opportunity to attend the United States Naval Academy's Summer STEM Program in Annapolis, Md. For a week, I was a resident in Vancroft Hall and attended classes and modules arranged by USNA professors.

Doerr to serve as personal counselor

Tiffany Doerr will be joining the Darlington Community as a personal counselor. She has 13 years of experience in counseling, working primarily with high school students. Most recently, she was director of counseling at Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J.

As I was preparing to enter my freshman year at Darlington, I knew I had been given an opportunity that many would never have. In an effort to take advantage of all Darlington had to offer as well as give back to those not as fortunate as me, I decided to start a service project centered around students.


Doerr named history teacher and rowing coach

Hans Doerr will be joining the Darlington Community as U.S. History and Global Issues teacher; he will also coach crew. He comes to the school having recently taught history for five years at Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., where he coached varsity boys’ crew.


Darlington School mourns the loss of Elson Floyd ('74), first black graduate and lifelong friend

The Darlington Community was saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Elson Floyd ('74), president of Washington State University and member of the Darlington Class of 1974, on Saturday.
