Advanced Placement Courses

Darlington’s Advanced Placement courses provide opportunities for advanced specialized coursework and college credit. A score of 3 or higher (out of a possible 5) often means the student is eligible to receive college credit or waive required college courses in the subject covered by the AP exam.

  • Darlington sophomores take AP World History, AP Chemistry and AP Languages; juniors take AP English Language, AP Sciences, AP U.S. History, AP Spanish or AP Calculus. Seniors may choose from offerings including AP Statistics, AP Calculus, AP Art History, AP Economics, AP English Literature, or AP Music Theory.

  • In 2007, 158 Darlington students took a total of 314 AP exams. Of that group, there was one National AP Scholar, 8 AP Scholars with Distinction, three AP Scholars with Honor and 24 AP Scholars.

  • All students enrolled in AP classes are required to take the AP exam.
