Advisory Program

The Middle School Advisory Program seeks to ensure that every student is a success, as defined by Darlington’s mission statement. Advisers work with the student, the family and the rest of the faculty to ensure that he or she has a positive learning experience during the middle school years.

Advisers are responsible for checking their advisees’ grades and disciplinary matters with regularity and counseling their group of advisees about classes, extracurricular activities and school life. Students should feel free to turn to their adviser for academic, social or personal assistance at any time. If the adviser cannot help directly, a referral can be made to another teacher, administrator or counselor who is able to provide the necessary support. Advisers also serve as the primary contact for parents regarding their student.

Advisee groups meet once a week. This time allows the adviser to effectively track each advisee’s progress academically, socially and emotionally.
