Darlington School honored outstanding faculty and staff members at the annual Brown Faculty Appreciation Dinner, hosted by the Board of Trustees on Thursday, May 9.
I had the time of my life playing "Cha Cha DiGregorio" in this year's winter musical. The cast and crew of "Grease" were able to accomplish, in just a couple of weeks of rehearsals and shows, what I had not been able to do in eight years: they inspired my son.
Concert Choir to perform Christmas concert with Rome Symphony Orchestra

Darlington School's Concert Choir has been selected to perform a concert with the Rome Symphony Orchestra on Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Rome City Auditorium.
The Concert Choir, Ladies’ Chorale and Middle School Chorus performed well at the District 7 Large Group Performance Evaluation Choral Festival at Woodland High School in Cartersville earlier this month.
Westmaas spends summer with Philadelphia chamber choir

There are only two chamber ensembles in the United States that focus specifically on modern choral music written by contemporary composers, and Darlington’s own Erin Westmaas is a member of one of them.

Several faculty and staff members will take on new and/or additional job roles in 2009-10. All changes are effective July 1 unless otherwise noted.<br /><br />
<b>Rick Buice</b> will be an advancement officer. He has been at Darlington since August 1969 and most recently served as chairman of the information technology department. He holds a B.A. from the University of Chattanooga and an M.Ed. from the State University of West Georgia.<br /><br />
<b>Janice Cox</b> will teach kindergarten. She has been at Darlington since August 1990 and most recently taught pre-first grade. She holds a B.A. from Berry College.<br /><br />
<b>Jody Deaton</b> will teach second grade. She has been at Darlington since August 2005 and most recently taught kindergarten. She holds a B.S. Ed. from the University of Georgia and a M.Ed. from Berry College.<br /><br />
<b>Jennifer Helbing (’98)</b> will teach second grade. She has been at Darlington since July 2007 and most recently taught kindergarten. She holds a B.S. Ed. from the University of Georgia and a M.Ed. from Georgia State University.<br /><br />
<b><a href="https://www.darlingtonschool.org/15289">Gordon Hight (’94)</a></b> will be acting director of Upper School. This marks his fourth year at Darlington, having served most recently as a dean of students. He holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the University of Georgia. <br /><br />

He has been at Darlington since August 2002 and served most recently as Middle School dean of studies. <b>Tara Inman</b> will direct the ESL program and continue coordinating the spiritual life program. She has been at Darlington since July 2002 and served most recently as head of Thornwood House. She holds a B.A. and a M.A.T. from Carson-Newman College.<br /><br />

He has been at Darlington since July 2001 and served most recently as director of student life. He has been at Darlington since August 1981 and served most recently as Thatcher chair of English. <b>Elaine Smith (’71T)</b> will teach third grade. She has been at Darlington since August 1980 and most recently taught second grade. She holds a B.S. and a M.Ed. from the University of Georgia.<br /><br />
