Senior Aiden Parsa, a day student from Rome, has met all requirements to advance to finalist standing in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. All finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarship awards to be offered this spring.

Parsa has taken eight Honors and seven AP courses at Darlington. He is currently enrolled in five AP courses and is a member of the Senior Ventures program, Mu Alpha Theta, the National Honor Society, and the Quill and Scroll Honor Society. Parsa serves as head day prefect of Summerbell House, editor-in-chief of the Jabberwokk yearbook, president of the Dar Tech Team and is a Student Council representative. He also competes on the varsity track and field, swim, and cross country teams. He is the son of Suzanne and Dr. Cyrus Parsa of Rome, Ga.

Just under half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the title of Merit Scholar. Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies, without regard to gender, race, ethinic origin, or religious preference.

National Merit Scholarship winners of 2024 will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April and concluding in July. These scholarship recipients will join nearly 375,000 other distinguished young people who have earned the Merit Scholar title.
