FINANCIAL

The specific eligibility requirements, terms, and provisions for each benefit are set forth in the respective benefit plans and are subject to revision at any time by the benefit provider. Please refer to the specific benefit plans available in the Human Resources Office for the eligibility requirements, terms, and provisions for each benefit. Part-time employees are not eligible for participation in Darlington’s financial benefit plans.

Subject to the terms of such plans, eligible full-time 10- and 12-month employees may enroll in Darlington’s insurance, retirement, or other financial benefit plans. The benefit plans currently being offered by Darlington include:

Insurance

Eligible full-time employees may apply for participation in Darlington’s group insurance programs. The group insurance programs presently offered by Darlington are as follows: life insurance equal to two times the employee’s regular annual salary and health, vision and dental insurance. Premiums for the life and health plans are shared between Darlington and the employee. Enrollment for coverage under the dental and vision plan is voluntary and the full premium amount is paid by the employee. Disability coverage is optional and the employee is responsible for the full cost of the premiums under this plan. The benefits payable under the disability plan may be exempt from federal income taxation.

TIAA/Retirement Annuities

Eligible full-time employees may participate in our 403b plan. This retirement plan may be funded by the employee and may be matched, up to a limit, by Darlington. Please contact the Human Resources Office for plan eligibility, participation, and contribution information. The plan is on a vesting schedule at 20% per year, with full vesting after 5 years of full time employment.

SRA Annuities

The Supplemental Retirement Annuity (SRA)–a cashable annuity contract–is available from TIAA/CREF. This (SRA) makes it possible for eligible full time employees to save additional amounts for retirement over and above the regular retirement contributions set forth under the TIAA/CREF retirement plan. These funds may earn interest and/or receive dividend payments and the amount contributed by the employee each month may receive beneficial federal income tax treatment. Literature and other details about the SRA plan are available in the Human Resources Office.

Flexible Benefits Plan / Health Savings Accounts

All eligible full-time employees may participate in an IRS Code Section 125 Flexible Benefits Plan. Under this plan, employees may voluntarily reduce their salary by paying the employee’s share of group medical, life, and cancer insurance. Additional amounts may be set aside in an unreimbursed medical expense account and in a child/dependent care account. Employees must opt in or opt out of these programs on a calendar-year basis. Additional information may be obtained from the Human Resources Office. Any such funds paid by the employee under the Flexible Benefits plans may be eligible for favorable federal income tax treatment.

Employees that are enrolled in medical coverage are eligible to participate in our Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account. These are pre-tax and will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck. Additional information is available in the Human Resources Office

Faculty Children Admission Policy

Subject to acceptance by the school, academically qualified children of faculty and staff members may apply for and attend the school under the same rules and regulations applicable to all other students. Employees may apply for Financial Aid for any portion of their children’s tuition through the Director of Financial Aid.
