Sportsmanship
GHSA Sportsmanship Statement: "The GHSA and its member schools have made a commitment to promote good sportsmanship by student/athletes, coaches, and spectators at all GHSA-sanctioned events. Profanity, degrading remarks, and intimidating actions directed at officials or competitors will not be tolerated, and are grounds for removal from the event site. Spectators are not allowed to enter the competition area during warm-ups or while the contest is being conducted. Thank you for your cooperation in the promotion of good sportsmanship at today's event."
Darlington student-athletes and students are reminded that they continually represent their families, their teams, and Darlington School at all sporting events. While being a spectator or a participant, the ideals of high moral character and sportsmanship must be upheld while representing Darlington School. Any unsportsmanlike penalties resulting in ejection from a game or facility will have to meet GHSA penalties as well as additional penalties sanctioned by the athletic director in order to be reinstated on a team. Additional penalties may include, but are not limited to, letters of apology to officials, opponents, and GHSA. If the penalty is severe, it may also include extended suspensions from competition or dismissal from a team.
