International Student Support

The Darlington Community is proud to be a culturally diverse learning environment, enrolling students from an average of 15 states and 20 countries worldwide. Our international student population provides valuable insight into the world, allowing barriers to be crossed and creating a global awareness within our small school community.

Darlington offers its students a unique opportunity to meet and make friends with people from other cultures and backgrounds. International students attend class, play sports, perform on stage, join clubs, and live with English-speaking students. This provides them the opportunity to make friends and communicate in English on a regular basis.

We understand that international students are far from home. But with 40% of Darlington’s faculty and staff living on campus, there is never a lack of academic and social support. Residential students participate in study hall sessions every evening, and additional help is available each during faculty office hours. Students can also count on the dean of students for global education, their head of house, faculty adviser, and their dorm mates and friends to help make their Darlington experience a success.

One of the Southeast’s premier independent day and boarding schools, Darlington is attractive to international students for many reasons. The people are friendly, the academics are challenging, the campus is beautiful, and the education our students receive gives them the confidence they need to succeed at the next level. Don’t take our word for it … come see for yourself!
