Darlington employs three full-time nurses in its Student Health Center, located at the Upper School campus. In the case of emergency sickness or injury, students should report to the teacher most immediately accessible and/or to the school nurse on duty. Students admitted to the Health Center will remain until officially dismissed by the nurse.
In addition, Gina Clevenger, a local family nurse practitioner employed by Floyd Medical Center, will be on campus weekly. Appointments and transportation for resident students to see physicians and dentists in Rome are made through Darlington's Student Health Center.
Abuse of prescription medication is a problem in society. Therefore, it is imperative that all prescribed medications be registered with the Health Center and dispensed by the nurse to students. It is the parents’ and student’s responsibility to register all medications with the Health Center.
