In 2015-16, Darlington celebrated the 100th anniversary of the student-created, student-led Honor Code and Honor Council. The school has since inaugurated the Honor Speaker Series to bring speakers to engage with students, faculty and staff; individuals who have demonstrated “Honor Above Everything” in both their personal and professional lives.

During chapel services, students heard from William L. Ball III, former United States Secretary of the Navy, who shared his knowledge of the importance of honor through his own personal experiences. Ball held senior posts in the Reagan Administration, beginning as an assistant secretary of state under George Shultz in 1985. He moved to the White House staff in 1986 as President Reagan's chief lobbyist and liaison to Congress. After two years in that capacity, he was nominated by President Reagan and confirmed by the Senate to become the 67th Secretary of the Navy in 1988.
