Pre-K to 8 students may earn a dress down day on Wednesday, April 24 by bringing in a dollar, on this day, to support the continued efforts to restore the town of Rolling Fork, MS. Over a year ago the community of Rolling Fork was devastated by an E-4 tornado. At that time, Darlington stepped in and raised money to help rebuild their town.
Recently, Adeline Spears shared information she learned from a summit that she attended earlier in the year on how the rebuild efforts are going. Adeline explained that it takes a lot of time and many resources to rebuild a community. Members of the community are thoughtfullly redesigning the town so the community members can become homeowners, and can install a tornado warning system in the future.
We are asking students to bring in a dollar or more on April 24 to support this effort and earn a dress down day. Mrs. Jones has encouraged students to earn their dollar through doing extra chores and helping family members.
Students will give their donations to their homeroom teacher or advisor on the 24th and wear their dress down clothes on the this same day. Together we can help those in need and let the town of Rolling Fork know that they are not forgotten.
Join us for an Upper School Tiger Pride meeting Thursday, April 25, at noon in the Yancey Suite. Lunch will be served.
Coach Frazier and Coach Watterson will be leading our 1st- 2nd-grade swimmers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm through the fundamentals of swimming starting on April 23rd and ending on May 16th.
The fee of $96 will cover 8 practice sessions with coaches and a lifeguard (7:1 coach-to-swimmer ratio). This class will be capped at 14 kids per session.

Please note that parent pickup for the Swimming Club will be at 4:30 pm at the Darlington Swimming Pool. Parents will be required to come into the Huffman and pick up their child from Coach Frazier at the pool.
