Darlington art teacher Jennifer Moore will be the spotlighted artist in this year's Hospitality House for Women greeting card fundraiser. The Rome-based nonprofit organization prints a limited number of Mother's Day cards that feature a different artist and accompanying quote each year.

Fifth-graders are reading the Newberry Award-winning novel "The Single Shard" by Linda Sue Park. The novel takes place in 12th Century Korea when the country was well known for its pottery. The students enjoyed learning from Mrs. Burns about pottery and how to use a wheel.
