I must admit that I was a bit nervous about stepping back into the classroom full time after having been retired for three years. I am happy to report that my first month of teaching in the 3-5 science lab has been filled with many unique teaching opportunities, and it has been so rewarding to me already.
According to her husband Frank ('77), Alice Clements failed at retirement (and the Darlington Community is glad that she did). Find out who Alice would like to have coffee with and maybe even learn something about her that surprises you.
After a very short retirement, Alice Clements will return to Darlington this year to teach science in grades 3-5. A longtime Darlington Tiger, she taught third grade at the school from 2005 to 2014 and has served as a long- and short-term substitute teacher for various grades during the last three years.
Darlington is pleased to welcome the following new faculty and staff members for the 2017-18 school year. All will begin Aug. 1, 2017, unless otherwise noted.
The fifth grade celebrated having Mrs. Clements as their long-term substitute while Mrs. Fine has been caring for her new twins. It has been great having her as their teacher these last few months! The students wish her happy, relaxing times at her beach house and hope to see her in the halls of Thatcher very soon!
