Honors Geometry Quilt Presentation

Tuesday, May 14, 2019 | By Jennifer Collins | 261 views

Members of the honors geometry class presented a quilt that they made to Penne Baldwin, regent of the Xavier Chapter of the DAR.

Each student used symmetry to design a square for the quilt. They then took their design to The Stitchery where they stitched their quilt square with a sewing machine. Cindy Loveless took the squares and completed the quilt and the students presented it to Penne Baldwin, regent of the Xavier Chapter of the DAR. Mrs. Baldwin will be taking the quilt to an elderly veteran of the Korean War who lives alone in the Rome area.

Many thanks to Stephanie Bradshaw, owner of The Stitchery, for donating all of the quilting supplies for the project.
