3-5 years experience teaching choral music is preferred
Broad knowledge of and experience with current best practices in choral music curriculum, instruction, and performance
Genuine love of middle and upper school age children and a desire to work with all types of learners
Committed to building and maintaining a choral program and their own professional development
Positive and contributing member of the professional community
Extraordinary communication and presentation skills
Proficient in use of technology and knowledge of Google classroom
A desire to work in a highly collaborative environment
Responsibilities
Teach Concert Choir, an auditioned mixed choir
Teach Chorale, a non-auditioned choir
Lead and advise two a capella groups extending from Concert Choir
Teach Middle School Chorus
Teach Keyboard Musicianship
Teach AP Music Theory
Serve as advisor for a group of 10-12 upper school students
Manage choral program budget
Plan and schedule seasonal concert programs for all groups throughout the school year
Plan appropriate trips to promote the school and choral programming
Participate in GMEA All-State and Large Group Performance Evaluations as appropriate for individual students and ensembles and in coordination with the school calendar
Maintain choral libraries for both middle and upper schools
Maintain choral concert attire
Vocal Director for Winter Musical in collaboration with Theatre Director
