Carson Raymond has returned to the Darlington Community to serve as director of major gifts in the Advancement Office. In this role, he will manage relationships with donors and oversee the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts. Raymond previously served on the school’s faculty as an Upper School Spanish teacher and head coach of the varsity soccer team.

"It is such an honor to be back at Darlington!” said Raymond. “I'm certainly thrilled to join the Advancement team and I look forward to connecting (and re-connecting) with members of the Darlington Community."

Raymond holds a M.Ed. in Higher Education Leadership from Mercer University in Atlanta (Ga.) and a B.A. in Leadership Studies and Spanish from the University of Richmond (Va.). Most recently, he served as the associate director of alumni relations at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta where he helped plan and produce class reunions and events with a focus of increased alumni engagement; planned and facilitated programming for the school’s Young Alumni Club; and produced digital content targeted to alumni of the school. He has also held positions as director of Columbia University’s Barcelona Program and was a state agent and placement counselor with Southern Teachers Agency.

“We are so excited to have Carson back on campus and a part of the Advancement team,” said Julie Lucas ('97), chief advancement officer. “His experience as a Darlington teacher, coach, and duty teacher already connects him with many of our parents and alums. I'm excited for him to meet other members of the Darlington family and help us connect and reconnect both in Rome and on the road!”

Outside of work, Carson and his wife, Coleman, enjoy traveling, listening to live music, and spending time with family and friends. Their goldendoodle (Fontaine) also keeps the couple busy at their home in Roswell, Ga.
