The eighth question I will tackle in my 10-part Prospective Boarding School Parent FAQ blog series is another common question we get in the Admission Office:

"Does Darlington offer merit scholarships and/or financial aid?"

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of our alumni and friends, Darlington School is fortunate to have a number of merit scholarships available to new applicants each year.

Darlington is committed to making educational opportunities available to as many academically qualified students as possible regardless of their family’s financial resources. Between our payment plan, financial aid and Merit Scholarships opportunities, Darlington may be within reach for your family. I encourage you to speak with our director of financial aid, DeLean Brandon, about these options.

Below, four mothers of current or recently graduated boarding students share the parent perspective:

"Our son is currently receiving a scholarship and financial aid. The generosity of the Darlington Community of alumni and donors has made our son's educational experience possible. We are truly grateful to Darlington for the gift of our child’s education." - Pam Doig of Gainesville, Ga., mother of Ben ('19)

"Darlington offers both need-based financial aid and merit scholarships. Our daughter met some of her current best friends at school [while she was interviewing for a scholarship]. It was so nice to move into the dorm in August and already see some familiar faces." - Merritt Fields of Cordele, Ga., mother of Aisling ('18)

"Darlington offers both merit scholarships and financial aid to those who qualify." - Sheila Ebri of Brunswick, Ga., mother of Bernadette ('17)

"YES! Darlington encourages everyone to apply for merit scholarships and financial aid. The process for both is fairly easy and straightforward. The staff at Darlington are very helpful." - Elizabeth Bou of Marietta, Ga., mother of Madelyn ('18)

And here, 10 of our merit scholars share heartwarming testimonials about Darlington and the impact their scholarships have had on their lives:

“If I could talk to my scholarship donors, I would say, 'Thank you so much for your contribution toward my education here. It has been a blessing getting ot know this community and growing with my friends. I can't wait for my senior year.' - Stacy Chen ('18), Huffman Scholar

“I am so thankful to my scholarship donors for all they have done to help me have the wonderful education. - Savannah Corbin ('20), Amanda Hubbard de Costerd Scholar

If I met my scholarship donors, I would thank them for probably the best opportunity I have ever had in my life. If not for their generosity, I would not be able to call my home Darlington.” - Ben Doig ('18),
