Traditions of Christmas Concert returns Sunday

December 9, 2014 | 237 views

The sounds of the holidays will fill the Dodd Banquet Room when fine arts students perform for the Darlington Community at the Traditions of Christmas Concert, Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. The event is free to attend.

The concert will feature performances from the Men's and Ladies' chorales, the Random Notes, Concert Choir, and the Darlingtones. Students will be led under the direction of Rebecca Duren, Darlington's choral director, with accompaniment provided on the piano by Donna Hester.

"The Traditions of Christmas Concert is a highlight of the year, offering concert-goers the opportunity to bask in the warmth of holiday tradition," said Duren. "The music offered will delight children to grandparents, with students singing songs both old and new. We will set the stage with Santa hats, hot chocolate and sweets."

Guests will enjoy contemporary holiday favorites like "Grown-up Christmas List" and "All I Want for Christmas is You," older hymns like "Jesus Christ the Apple Tree," an a cappella cover of "Carol of the Bells," and a variety of other special selections.
