The Power of Positive Energy

Have you ever received a compliment from a stranger?  Has anyone ever given you the right of way in traffic?  Have you ever gotten help with a heavy package or an armful of groceries as you were entering a building?  I’m guessing that I am not alone in answering yes to all of the above.  Each time one of these occurred, it energized me with gratitude.  Just to know that another person is willing to help or encourage is a positive feeling that automatically boosts.

Right now, we have a friend among us who needs just that—boosting to recovery!  There has been documentation as well as research confirming the connection between good health and a positive mind.  I am convinced that the mind, body, and soul are absolutely linked inextricably and with prayer coupled with a determined positive attitude, the body is much more likely to respond.  We all know by very small comparison the rush we get when good deeds are done for us.  There could be no quantifying the effect that a generous, successful blood drive might have on senior Sam Mathis.  To know that so many friends, as well as total strangers, would take the time to donate blood on his behalf could have unimaginable power in healing him.  You could be just what the doctor ordered!

Please mark your calendar for Thursday, March 21, and be at the McCallie-Kennedy Library at the Upper School to reach out for this young man.  From 2 to 7 p.m., Blood Assurance will be drawing blood for this community in his honor.  If you are 16 years of age or older, I hope to see you in line, anxious to give the gift of life, as well as your positive energy.  Without question, Sam would do it for you!
