Outstanding academic achievement has won senior Sean Healy the honor of being named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for August.
Healy currently ranks 18th in the class of 138. During his high school career, he has taken 13 AP and Honors courses. He is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. As a sophomore, he received the Darlington School Parents Association Award.
An active member of Darlington's student body, Healy has served as head day prefect, head day mentor, servant leadership liaison, admission liaison, secretary of the House Senate, treasurer of the Science Club, and a member of the Honor Council and "Y" Cabinet. He also plays violin and is a member of the soccer and cross country teams.
Outside of school, Healy has participated in High School Leadership Rome and performed with the Rome Symphony Orchestra. He was also selected for the Georgetown University Medicine Program and served as a People to People Student Ambassador.
The son of Renee and John Healy, he was honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Aug. 26.
