Darlington School will host a blood drive on Thursday, April 21, in honor of longtime faculty member Kandi Riddle, who is battling cancer. The Blood Assurance Blood Vessel will be at the McCallie-Kennedy Library steps that day from 2 to 7 p.m. for anyone who would like to participate.
“It is always so meaningful when an event such as this one is held in honor of one of our own,” said Reba Barnes, director of servant leadership. “Kandi has been so very courageous in her long battle with cancer. As a school community, we want to support her not only with kind words and gestures, but also through events such as this one that raise awareness.”
Riddle has worked at Darlington since 1995. During her tenure she has done everything from teach pre-K to serve as instructional technology coordinator in the I.T. Office. She is the mother of alumni Ford ('07) and Brennen ('08).
Those wishing to give blood must be 16 years or older; 16-year-olds must have written consent from a parent or guardian.
