Eighth Grade Transition Day Coming in April

In order to prepare the eighth-graders for their transition to the Upper School, we will be having an Eighth Grade Transition Day on Tuesday, April 5.

The eighth-grade students will have an opportunity to shadow a ninth-grade student for the first three classes of the day and take a tour of the Upper School. Eighth-graders will then head over to the Ledbetter Concourse of the Huffman Center for lunch at 11:30 a.m. After lunch, there will be a separate Upper School faculty and student panel to answer questions for both the eighth-graders and their parents. Please see attached schedule.

On the morning of April 5, eighth-graders should arrive at the Upper School by 7:40 a.m. so they can find their way to their advisee meeting where they will meet the ninth-grader who will show them around for the day. If they are unsure of where to go, they can come to the Dodd Dining Room and get directions to their advisee meeting.

Parents are invited to eat lunch with the eighth-graders at 11:30 a.m. in the Yankee Wrestling Room of the Huffman Center. Following lunch, we will have the faculty panel and a special Connect with Kids video presentation with Director of Counseling Jill Pate. The program should conclude by 1:45 p.m.

If you have any questions about this program, please e-mail me at mfraser@darlingtonschool.org.
