Academic Summer Camps

Summer Engagement

With end of the school year quickly approaching, plans for summer are in full swing. While the summer months are a time for some rest and relaxation, it can also be an opportunity for academic skills to regress. Engaging in different academic activities is important for all skill levels and grade levels. Just like practicing for a sport is important, so is practicing for school. However, motivating our kids can sometimes prove difficult during the summer. Enrolling in a summer camp can be the boost a child needs or provide the necessary engagement to begin the new school year ready for success.

Summer Opportunities

There has been a growing need to provide more academic opportunities during the summer. To meet this need, several courses will be offered by Darlington School this summer to target the academic needs of the community. This need includes both remediation and enrichment opportunities. Several courses have been designed to help build the skills of struggling students, while several others will target the advancement of students performing well in the classroom.

Course Offerings

The Academic Acclimation and Advancement Courses are designed for students wanting an extra push during the summer. Each student will be challenged through meaningful activities to reach individually set goals. Small teacher-to-student ratios will provide opportunities for individualized attention and instruction.

The Skill Building Courses are highly intensive, skill-building programs to strengthen the skills of students in reading and writing or math. The courses will use multi-sensory methods of instruction, flexible groupings, and individualized plans to maximize learning.
