Fourth-grade students participated in the first annual Darlington Derby Challenge! For this cross-curricular project, spearheaded by Technology Integration Coordinator Leah Lynn, students combined their understanding of measurement and physics along with the engineering design process to build a self-propelled car with a partner. Given requirements and constraints, students had a week to design, build and test their cars before the big race day held at Berry College. On April 26, the project culminated with a visit to the Berry College Hackberry Lab and a tour with Dr. Zane Cochran. Following the tour, students enjoyed a picnic lunch and finally tested their cars to find the Grand Prize Winner!
