Hello, I'm Grace Armstrong, and my Senior Ventures project focuses on enhancing the S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) curriculum for first through fifth grades in Darlington's Pre-K to 8 division. A robust science education is essential for developing children's communication, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Recently, I collaborated with Dr. Natarella and fourth-grade students on their future cities project. I also helped lead a professional learning community (PLC) session to teach faculty how to program LEGO Spike robots. Dr. Natarella, who attended the PLC, invited me to assist with integrating this technology into his classroom. Working with the fourth-graders to build their future cities was incredibly rewarding. Today, my Senior Ventures class visited Thatcher Hall to further support and learn about the future cities project.
