A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Elika Lamtar Mohammadi, a two-year boarding student from Iran who loves science.

When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Community, tradition, excellence

What song reminds you of high school?
“I Know the End” by Phoebe Bridgers

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Breaking Bad”

What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Chick-fil-A

What house are you a member of?
Regester House

What are you involved in at Darlington?
Varsity lacrosse, president of Green Team, vice president of Sowing Seeds 4 U, programming chair of HOSA, member of Tiger Tutors

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Mrs. Blankenship because she's always willing to hear you out and help you.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The lake because it's peaceful.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Hudson because he's the easiest teacher to talk to when it comes to anything. He's the first one that I go to when I need advice. He has such a great connection with his students. Mr. Kinney because he's also very easy to talk to and is very passionate about what he teaches, which also makes me passionate about it. Both are my science teachers and I just like science better than any other subject so that also plays a part in why they are my favorite teachers.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The sense of community.

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Being part of a house at Darlington was a truly unique experience for me. The school's division into houses created a strong sense of camaraderie and friendly competition. The competitive spirit was palpable as we cheered on our housemates and gave our all in every challenge during RUMPUS.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
Since coming to Darlington, I've grown a lot. Living away from home taught me to be independent, managing my own schedule and responsibilities. I faced challenges that helped me become more resilient, bouncing back from setbacks. Engaging in extracurricular activities allowed me to develop leadership skills, taking on roles of responsibility and inspiring others. Interacting with diverse peers broadened my global perspective.

What is your dream job?
Dermatologist
