Summer Strings Youth Orchestra Preparatory Camp

Canceled due to low participation.

Darlington’s Youth Orchestra Preparatory Camp focuses on audition repertoire and requirements for regional youth orchestras. Each youth orchestra has similar requirements and a special schedule will be developed to prepare participants for the specific youth orchestra they wish to pursue. While this is primarily an audition preparatory camp, we go far beyond positions and bowing techniques for excerpts and scales. From the principal to the last stand, sectional instruction will be in rotational format and focus on each person’s role for a successful sectional dynamic. To be a good leader, one must know how to follow. To follow with confidence, one must know how to lead.
