The camps take place on Darlington School’s 400-acre college preparatory campus, complete with four perfectly manicured playing fields, a 96,000-square foot athletic center, air-conditioned dormitories, and the best camp food imaginable. Darlington’s Soccer Mini-Camp will touch on all technical and functional aspects of the game of soccer. Sessions will focus on the fundamental techniques of dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting. Defensive and offensive strategies will also be emphasized. Mini-Soccer Camp will be directed by Darlington School Soccer Academy staff coach Byron Dacy, a Div. I collegiate soccer standout with a United States Soccer Federation National "D" Coaching license. College-bound soccer players will assist him throughout the week. Darlington’s Soccer Mini-Camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-12.
Byron Dacy was a four year starter at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned Freshman All-American honors, Conference Freshman of the Year, and many other conference awards in his time at Creighton. He also became the first player in NCAA history to be nominated for the MAC Herman trophy (Heisman for college soccer) four years in a row. Byron was also a member of the U.S. U17 Boys National pool, the Region II Regional team, and spent some time in England training with the English Premier League’s Fulhum Futbol Club. He graduated from Creighton in December 2009 with a degree in Elementary Education. He currently holds a United States Soccer Federation National "D" Coaching license and has been teaching at Darlington’s Lower School and coaching with the Darlington School Soccer Academy’s boys’ and girls’ teams since August 2010.
