Mission
Darlington Summer Programs is the summer program of Darlington School, one of
the oldest and most respected college preparatory schools in the country. For
100 years, Darlington School, located in Rome, Georgia, has been educating young
men and women according to one simple principal:

Darlington Summer Programs continues this tradition as it offers unique, day and
overnight, Summer Programs for boys and girls of all ages.
Darlington School Mission
At Darlington School, we strive to enable
young people to become well educated, responsible human beings. We teach them to
think critically, communicate effectively, and develop their strengths and
talents. We expect them to discern right from wrong, act with courage and
conviction, practice ethical leadership, and exhibit honorable character
directed to the service of God and all peoples. We seek to inspire them to
perpetuate these attributes throughout their lives, both as individuals and as
members of the world community. We define our mission as follows:
Intellectual
- To stimulate a lifelong passion for learning.
- To nurture intellectual curiosity, self-expression, creativity, and
exploration.
- To teach essential skills of scholarship as a basis for future academic

- To advance close student-faculty relationships, as exemplified by the
teacher, Joseph James Darlington, for whom the School was named.
Spiritual

permeate our relationships, where people of all faiths are welcomed and
