Safety and care are top camp priorities. Campers sleep in one of six air-conditioned dormitories with 24-hour adult supervision. A full-time camp nurse works in the School's centrally located Student Health Center during camp hours. Darlington also maintains two local physicians on call for further medical attention as needed. Floyd Medical Center and Redmond Regional Hospital are located in Rome, only a short distance from the campus.
Campers live in one of Darlington's six student houses, housing used by resident students during the academic year. These houses are fully air-conditioned with all the modern amenities of a 21st century home. At Darlington Summer Programs you won't have to worry about mosquitoes and summer heat keeping you awake at night. When it comes to camp, sleep is as important as eating and having fun. The better you sleep, the healthier you are, and the harder you can play the next day. Washers, dryers, and drink machines are available in each housing facility.
Campers will eat in Darlington School's Dodd Dining Hall, a buffet style cafeteria with a unique menu each day. Salad, sandwich, soup, and pizza bars are also available each day. We understand the importance of nutrition and a well-balanced diet. Campers will eat three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and ice cream is always in full supply.
