Welcome to Camp Darlington! Camp begins at 9 a.m. every day at the old gym on the Upper School campus, but campers can arrive starting at 8:40 a.m. Campers should be picked up in front of the Huffman Center at 4 p.m. All your camper needs to bring is a bathing suit and a towel. Lunch and snacks are provided.
Experience 400 acres of outdoor fun at Camp Darlington! Swim, shoot, hit, throw, kick, paddle, duck, dodge, and run. Cruise the trails, compete on playing fields, paddle on Silver Lake, and take full advantage of the indoor pool and gym in Darlington’s 96,000 square foot A. J. Huffman ’67 Memorial Athletic Center. Camp Darlington gives a sense of adventure, while providing a variety of safe and wholesome activities designed to intrigue every kind of camper.Lunch is served in the Darlington School dining room, followed by afternoon activities. The first Thursday of each session is set aside for a trip day. Campers are treated to an afternoon of bowling or skating, followed by evening games and swimming, and ending with a “lock-in” in which campers spend the night in Darlington’s Johnson Fieldhouse.
Campers are recognized with certificates and ribbons during an awards ceremony at the end of each two-week session.
Shari Cannon has worked with Camp Darlington for ten years, and this summer will make her seventh as the camp’s Director. She also teaches two-year-old Sunday school at her church. Before coming to Darlington, she taught and directed her church preschool program.
