Transforming Lives: The Second Century Campaign

In February 2014, hundreds of campaign supporters gathered at the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Ga., to mark the success of the Second Century Campaign. This gala was a celebration of Darlington School, her mission, and the donors and volunteers who rose to the occasion to make history in the Second Century Campaign.

When we kicked off the campaign in 2008, there was no doubt that $90 million was a daunting goal, but the Darlington Community persevered and surpassed that goal by raising nearly $97 million. This achievement makes this the most ambitious and successful comprehensive campaign in school history. Co-chairmen George Johnson (’54) and Jere Drummond (’57) led with vision, passion and energy. Their hard work and leadership represent the best that Darlington has to offer, and when their team of hundreds of dedicated volunteers reached out to alumni, parents and friends, our community answered with overwhelming generosity.

The Second Century Campaign positions Darlington School as a national institution charting a visionary course toward a strong and vibrant future. Of course, Darlington’s students and faculty are the beneficiaries of this success and with the support and dedication of many volunteers and donors, we are telling them just how much we care about their future. We sincerely thank every donor for helping to make this campaign an historic and resounding success.
