Step 1. Redirect your tax dollars to GOAL.
Send the following two forms and your check or credit card payment authorization directly to DeLean Brandon at Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Road, Rome, GA, 30161.
1.Darlington School Contribution and Authorization Form
2.A blank copy of page 2 of the Form IT-QEE-TP1 pre-approval form, signed by you at Part C
3.A check made payable to “Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program” in the amount of your contribution with Darlington Schoool listed in the memo section of your check or fill out a credit card authorization form.
Darlington School’s Admission Office will obtain Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) approval for you to fund a scholarship. After processing, you will receive an acknowledgement form confirming your scholarship funding.

If you prefer, you can send in your forms and payment directly to the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program. They will be happy to obtain approval from the Georgia DOR on your behalf. The address is as follows: Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program Inc., 5 Concourse Parkway, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA, 30328.
Step 2. Return approval form to Darlington School.
The DOR will send you a copy of your approved Form Form IT-QEE-TP1 . Immediately send a copy of this form to DeLean Brandon at Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Road, Rome, GA, 30161, so she can provide it to the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program. This will ensure that you are eligible to file for your Georgia tax credit.
Step 3. Claim your credit.
When you file your income tax return in 2011, you will receive a credit against your Georgia income taxes for the amount of your contribution AND a charitable deduction on your federal income taxes, provided you itemize. You may still file your returns electronically if you elect to take this credit.
- GOAL will send you a Form IT-QEE-SS01 contribution acknowledgement form to be filed with your taxes.
- GOAL will send taxpayer filing guidance early next year and/or will post taxpayer filing guidance on its Web site.
Timing/Deadline
To participate in this program and qualify for a 2011 tax credit, the paperwork and your check should be provided to Darlington or submitted to GOAL by no later than Nov. 15. However, it is expected that the cap will be met early this year, so your prompt participation is greatly appreciated. Also, the sooner you contribute, the more students will benefit from scholarships for the coming academic year. Thank you for helping children to attend Darlington School!
